I have a 5 year old HP which recently started having problems with the keyboard giving the wrong keys. This started right after I tried to stream on a slightly sketchy site so I'm suspecting malware.

What the keyboard is doing:

-neither control key works

-delete turns airplane mode on and off

-typing an o moves the cursor before the o (but only sometimes)

-back arrow key very infrequently types an o

-forward arrow always gives a 9

What I have tried:

-changing the language settings

-reinstalling the keyboard drivers

-factory reset

-used MalwareBytes and Norton to look for malware/viruses but found nothing

I've bought a new computer but I'm afraid to transfer any of my files (backed up to a jumpdrive before the factory reset) until I figure out what's going on.

Thanks in advance!

How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook

I don't but I can get one. What will another keyboard reveal about what's happening?

If the 2nd keyboard does the same than it's in the machine, if not it's the board.
