PC is slow, twitches and weird behaviour

Hello all. I would like to ask some help from a more experienced pc user than I am.

Symptoms:

Recently my pc is lagging a lot(slow, fps drops in games and video, programs take long time to respond, twitches, sometimes random freezes so I have to hard reset, usb "plug-in"- sound effect like 30 times at startup)

The folders that I'm trying to delete or move give "This action can't be completed because the folder is being used by another program"

Observations:

I recently added another, Seagate HDD. I also updated graphic  drivers. The problems have started around time of those changes(coincidence`?)

Memory usage was high when playing older games, 88%(normal?)

 

My system specifications:

Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz

Intel Corporation DP67DE

8,00Gt Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

1023MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560

232GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB ATA Device (SSD)  
931GB Seagate ST1000DM010-2EP102 ATA Device (SATA)

 

I did ran HWmonitor, and seems that all temperatures should be normal. I ran a check with avast, malwarebytes and eset scanners. Only infection was Firefox, which I had to reinstall.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.
 
Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
 
Click Go and paste the content into your next post.
 
Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

   Go to Piriform's website, and download the free version on the left.  Click Download from Piriform.com (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version. You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.

    After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.
 
     Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course):

     Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot.

     Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

Now, once you are back in the forum topic you are posting in, click the ADD REPLY or REPLY TO THIS TOPIC button. Right-click in the empty space of the Reply box and click Paste. Then, click Add Reply below the Reply box.

I would run the SeaTools for Windows long geneic test on drive Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB ATA Device, after running the chkdsk /r command on the Windows partition.  We just want to know if the drive passes or fails, no logs necessary.

The Speccy shows that you have a GeForce 960 version 23.21.13.9101 installed for you GeForce GTX 560.  I would suggest uninstalling this driver and find the latest driver applicable to your specific graphic card.


Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Hi again. I have Avast Premier and Malwarebytes, I have run both with nothing come out. I ran chkdis /r, program flashes on screen and then nothing. I ran Seatools on my SSD, it passed. Geforce Experience recommended me the latest update few weeks ago. Now I removed the driver and rolled back to driver what Windows installed for me automatically.

Did rolling the driver back resolve the problem?

If your Speccy report is accurate for your NVIDIA GTX 560 it says you have this driver version installed:

 

Driver version: 
23.21.13.9101
 

 

To translate that to NVIDIA version shift the decimal two places to the right and your installed driver version becomes:

 

391.01

 

Note that will be same way it shows up in Device Manager.

 

According to the NVIDIA site their latest driver version for that device is 391.24.

 

The one you have installed now is one version behind but that may not be the problem:

If you choose to update the driver you will be able to check the version the same way in Device Manager or Speccy.

Yes, thanks for replies. I updated the drivers, but that didn't yet solve the problem.

Guys, I could still use some help. The problem didn't solve, I changed graphics card and updated all my motherboard drivers... Still the weird stuttering, lag in sounds and video, and repeated usb plug in sounds in the start up

I downloaded and installed program Whysoslow. It diagnosed that my pc is unresponsive at times, and this: BIOS and chipset behavior -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The highest measured SM BIOS interrupt or other stall was 110 microseconds. This is considered poor behavior. Your system may have difficulty handling multimedia in real-time and may be subject to unexpected stutters and unresponsive behavior. More info.. What does this mean and how to go fixing this?

Did the original NVIDIA driver work?  If it did, reinstall it and see if it works.

 

[color-blue]Please note[/color]:  You must uninstall the current NVIDIA driver before installing  another driver.

 

What is the make and model of your PSU?

 

Were the HWMonitor voltage readings within normal parameters?

 

An aside...  You do not want to run the /r switch with a SSD, under certain conditions this can cause unwanted wear.  Chkdsk /r checks for bad sectors on the HDD and recovers any readable information.  A SSD's firmware does this for you without any undo wear.

Hello again. I replaced my old video card with Nvidia GTX 980. All the drivers have been upp to date. Model of my PSU is Corsair CX500. Voltages are currently : Hardware monitor Nuvoton NCT6771 Voltage 0 0.98 Volts [0x7B] (CPU VCORE) Voltage 1 1.10 Volts [0x89] (VIN1) Voltage 2 3.31 Volts [0xCF] (AVCC) Voltage 3 3.31 Volts [0xCF] (3VCC) Voltage 4 1.04 Volts [0x82] (VIN4) Voltage 5 1.03 Volts [0x81] (VIN5) Voltage 6 1.07 Volts [0x86] (VIN6) I am not sure if that's normal. I did solve the usb problem, been trying to look in the lag thing but I did not find any answers yet.

Please download AdwCleaner and install it.

When AdwCleaner opens click on Scan to start the scan.
