G'day,

I have had a Photographic Program for over 10 years that I use almost every day. I had it installed on my Windows 10 computer.  It worked really well.  I received a Spam Message asking me install a program.  Once I install it I realized it was a Porn Site.  I decided to in uninstall it.  I clicked on Microsoft Premium 10 by mistake and uninstalled it. I had no idea how I could stop the program uninstalling.  I them uninstalled the Porn Program.  I asked several people if it was possible to get the program back.  I have been told that once it had gone from my computer that was the end of it.

Fortunately I still had my original Box with the Insulation Disk for Microsoft Photo Premium 10.  I decided to install it back onto my Windows 10 computer. I tried several times.  This time I received a POP UP that told me it would not install on Windows 10.  I cannot understand why.  If I installed in with Window !0 before why cannot I install it again.  I contacted Microsoft and was told that it was an old program not compatible with Windows 10.  I should purchase a new Photographic Program that is compatible with Windows 10.  I can honestly say that I am so disappointed, as like most old people they get used to the things they have had for years and do not want to change.

I would really appreciate any help.

1. Is it possible to get a program back if it has been Uninstalled ?

2.  Are there any settings I can change to install the CD.? I have tried having my Firewall and anti virus off.

3. If I took it to the I T Shop would any of their Technicians be able to get it back?

Cheers Perry

G'day Perry,and Welcome to BC, mate !

I just found THIS PAGE  .... worth a read

From the talk on that page, I would assume there is some way of getting it installed.

I used to run windows, but am now running Linux, so I am not up to date with the latest tricks etc.

Be patient, there are many windows 10 experts here who will gladly help you.

Good Luck.

Brian

Also.....when I did use windows...(Win 7)...i made use of a program called FastStone Image Viewer

I see it still exists, and is usable for all the windows, including 10. It is free.,

I remember it because, for my uses, it was very good !

Link to download page here

Tutorial

download it and give it a try if you have no eventual success with premium 10

G’day Brian,
Thank you for your reply.
It was good to see somebody else was able to down load the program, even if it was slow.  I’m 77 and getting slower too.
There are other programs but because I have used MPP 10 for all these years and it does all the things I need to do, I would really like to get it back.
Cheers Perry

According to this link your photo program works on Windows 8.1 64 bit, which means that it will also work on Windows 10;

Of course this program comes from the XP era, so maybe you could run XP in a virtual machine and then run this program.

I had a similar problem with this years turbo tax.  What I did was I downloaded program to my desktop and right clicked on it and a window opened up and I chose compatibility windows 8 and I was able to install program.  So try changing the compatibility to something else.

G'day bertiemae,

I tried it but it still does no install.  I still cannot understand why I had no problem installing it when I first got Windows 10.

Cheers Perry
