Hi there, I have a shop website with shopify: https://mountainherbs.net/ and I still don't know weather I need a backup.
There are a lot of photos and a lot of text and losing all would be a lot of work.... but did it ever happen that you pay for a service and then you lose your site? I would like to back  up if necessary on my own memory stick.

Yes you should have a back up. You never know what can happen. There is no guarantee that the service won't lose your site. Also you could possibly forget a payment here or there and then they take your site down. There are a few things that can happen. it's just good practice to have a backup somewhere.
