I will use a .jar software for about 8 months. I'm very reluctant to install Java but I have to. I have a Windows 10 Pro PC and I thought I could install a Linux distro on Hyper-V and here install Java and use the software. I'd create no internet connection for this Linux virtual machine and I'd use it only for this program.

Could it be a safe solution?

Little change: I've just found out that I have to use also a windows-only program together with the .jar software. So I should install Win10 on Hyper-V with Java, still without internet connection and without shared folders.

Is it still a safe solution?

For this purpose is it safer and better Hyper-v or Virtualbox?
