So I have a fairly old desktop computer that I use to play games (from Steam, Minecraft, League of Legends). It has an AMD A4-3420 APU and because of how old it is, I usually play the games I have listed at an FPS of 30-45.

I have a Pegatron Radeon HD5450 Dedicated GPU card that I reclaimed from an old computer and was wondering if it will improve my gaming performance if I use it.

The system is an HP Pavilion P6-2100.

Thanks in advance.

Not really as the APU on the processor is newer.

I would invest in a GTX1030

is this a regular PC or small form factor?

Thats good, that will give you options to play with.

You could get the 1030 or the 1050

The 1050 is still somewhat reasonable in price and one is fairly cheap:

It is small but will be a great add on.

With GPU prices being so high I would say slap in a 1050Ti but those are high priced so cannot recommend them.

The 1050 would probably do, your processor isnt the best at gaming but the gaming load will be a little better.

The  AMD A4-3420 is a rather poor gaming processor but this will be a great add on for now until you decide if you want to get or build a new machine.

After all you can always transfer over the GPU and your hard drive if in the future if you want a newer desktop.
