I want to link my iPhone to the PC, win 10. It is saying I need to have 'Fall Creator', because my phone deoesn't link. Have not found how to get my phone to link & I think it has to do with FC, not being installed?

I have no idea why you're having the issue specifically, but if you're actually still running Windows 10 Version 1607 then you've either intentionally blocked Windows Update or the Windows Update process is broken.   You should have been on Version 1703 ages ago, and also transitioned to Version 1709 by now.

Follow these instructions:  Updating Windows 10 using the Windows 10 ISO file or, if you really don't want to go that route, then go to the Microsoft Windows 10 Download Page and invoke the Update Assistant via the "Update this PC" button.

You need to get off of Version 1607 and bring your machine up to date as the first order of business.

After doing that, definitely rerun Speccy and post a new snapshot.  The one you have in your signature dates from when your machine was running Windows 7.

Do you have iTunes Installed?  This is required to connect to your computer AFAIK

In addition to Brian's excellent Instructions I would Update the BIOS also before attempting the Upgrades.

pcpunk,

You don't need iTunes (unless you actually want to use it).   See the center of the top row of my Version 1709 Settings:

and, once you open Phone settings:

Ahh, thank you for that.  Don't use 1709 enough I guess, I installed iTunes to do the same as Windows 7.  I guess iTunes is only needed in Windows 7?

I would not go that far.  We're back to "tool for task."

iTunes and the phone sync settings of Windows 10 have some overlap, but nowhere near to total overlap, particularly with regard to your iTunes library.

As far as pictures go, iTunes is needed unless one has Windows 10 Version 1709 right?  This is my experience.

I tried too add a phone, as illustrated from britechguy reply to pcpunk. Where it prompts via  "+" , that button is dead. I can't add a phone or get any other prompt

Are you signed into a MS Account?  As I understand it this is the only way to use this feature.

Would you Elaborate Bri, mostly as how to get Pictures onto computer from iPhone?  Because I believe that music is the easy part to do, though I have not done that.  I'll work on this soon as I need this functionality.

Looks like if you want just Pictures use the "Photos" App in windows 10.

If you want music I think the only way is iTunes.

I will follow up once I try it.

With regard to pictures from iPhone, I get some, but not all of them. I must add that this machine was a Windows 7 upgrade to the free Win 10.

You mean Text messages?

You will definitely need to have an MS Account to do more things with this.
