This problem came out of nowhere; not sure if it's a W7 problem or AOL Gold.

When I summon up AOL Gold I now get a stupid "Blerk" popup saying Username error. On other servers, Firefox and IE, the Blerk popup has full text that includes "try again" which frees up everything and so I have access to AOL Mail, etc.

With AOL Gold the message is cropped within the pop up and I can't do anything to click on the inaccessible link. All it does is go "ping" no matter what I try. I can't click on anything on the whole screen! I'm held hostage by the cropped Blerk pop up.

I don't even know why it showed up to begin with after months of no problem. Thus, no workable AOL Gold. A total standoff. I've rebooted and a million other things (including uninstalling a couple of anti-virus programs I don't need). What to do? Can I shrink the text within the box to show everything, even though I can't do a darn thing with the box as it stands??

Thanks!

Assuming you have a paid subscription for AOL Gold I would think it is best ask them. Get Support - AOL Help

Curiously, the problem fixed itself before I contacted AOL. But it lasted several days before it did.

Sometimes just changing your socks fixes things...:)
