my RogueKiller detected 6 PUP.SmartPCFixer, but they're from Epic browser. Has my Epic browser been infected or they are just false positive?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

You are clean.

The RogueKiller is possibly reporting a false positive.
This is a ROGUE PROGRAM it's possibly targetting.
https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/191367-removal-instructions-for-pcfixer/
I can possibly report this but I need additional information.
Please run this Farbar fix and post the log for my review.
=========

Press the Windows key + r on your keyboard at the same time. This will open the RUN BOX.
Type Notepad and and click the OK key.

Please copy the entire contents of the code box below to a new file.

Start

CreateRestorePoint:
EmptyTemp:
CloseProcesses:

REG: REG QUERY "HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1034722268-116428125-1122422439-1000-{ED1FC765-E35E-4C3D-BF15-2C2B11260CE4}-03022018153901891\Software\Epic" /s

End
Save the file as fixlist.txt in the same folder where the Farbar tool is running from.
The location is listed in the 3rd line of the Farbar log you have submitted.

Run FRST and click Fix only once and wait.

The tool will create a log (Fixlog.txt) please post it to your reply.

Please let me know what problem persists with this computer.
===

On a side note fix this before running the suggested fix above.

My SystemLook size is over 10 MBs, So I can't upload it and when I try to post it, it keeps getting "page unresponsive". Am I allowed to compress it into zip file and upload it here?

Recently my SUPERAntiSpyware just found a "Malware.Trace" after updating, but I have not done anything that could infect my PC with Malware.Trace. I scan my PC with SUPERAntiSpyware once or twice a week but it didn't find anything related to Malware. Could this be a false positive?

Thanks in advance!

Malware.Trace
(x86) HKU\RK_NetworkService_ON_C_F3B5\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENTVERSION\WINLOGON#SHELL

Forget about the user key.

Lets find out what is in this registry key.

Open the SystemLook and search the registry with this command.

:reg
HKU\RK_NetworkService_ON_C_F3B5\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENTVERSION\WINLOGON\Shell /sub

Post the log for my review.

Hi,

Please open the Registry.

In the Windows Run box type REGEDIT.EXE

This will open the registry.

Navigate to this key

HKU\RK_NetworkService_ON_C_F3B5

Highlight the key and on the menu select File > Export

Save the file as my_HKU.reg

Attach that file to your next reply.

p.s.
Hope this can help.

Hi,

Try this search.

:regfind
RK_NetworkService_ON_C_F3B5

Post the logs if possible.

If nothing found and you still have the 10M bytes systemlog file open it with NotePad.

Un the the EDIT > File find look for RK_NetworkService_ON_C_F3B5

Post the complete line(s) associated with it.

Other than that bad registry entry that was found do you have any problems with this computer?

Hi,

This should remove it.

Copy the text IN THE QUOTE BOX below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop.
Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved Right click the .reg file and allow it to merge with the registry.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Avira\Antivirus\Overwrite_Keys\HKEY_USERS\RK_NetworkService_ON_C_F3B5]

Restart the computer when completed.

You can delete the fixme.reg file when done.

I just merged fixme.reg, but SystemLook can still find ":regfindRK_NetworkService_ON_C_F3B5". Is this something I should be worried?
