We have a windows 7 desktop that running a couple of robocopy jobs and for some reason, it freezes at random points in CMD.

However the script still seems to be running as we push out the output into a .txt file which shows the robocopy job does finish.

When the CMD freezes, it freezes at different spots in the backup job but when someone press a enter key in that CMD window, the scripts looks like it continues and closes as if it unfroze itself.

Any ideas why this would happen with CMD window like that?

you should google robocopy GUI makes using robocopy so much easier to use.

personally I like this one when moving lots of files because if something fails or freezes it will re-scan and only move the files it hasn't moved yet.

it doesn't hang (at least according to the .txt logs). The CMD prompt window just hangs or freezes at random spots. Pressing enter in the windows forces the window to finish up.

Using the robocopy and manual .bat file is easier for us as the end-user runs it manually, they just need to double click and let the script run on it own. We have 5-6 different robocopy for this user.
