How do you know you have the correct drivers for your win 7 pc?

Out of curiosity why do you need a USB network adapter on this system (I have some too)...

  • Is it because the system never had a network adapter?
  • Is it because the system has a network adapter but it is afflicted?
  • Is it because of some other reason you will describe?

Do other USB devices plugged into this same USB port work okay?

Have you tested the USB network adapter with other USB ports on the same system?

Have you tested the USB network adapter on another system - just to see if it is recognized (don't have to install anything).

Does the device show up in Device manager like mine:

If you provide more information about your system it could reduce the number of wasted message cycle trying things:

What is your system make and model or is it something assembled from separately purchased components?

If the system is a Dell what is the Service Tag Number?

If the system is an HP what is the serial number?

If the system is an Toshiba what is the serial number?

Click Start, Run and in the box enter:

msinfo32

Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select All (Ctrl-A), Copy (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

For USB port information, expand the Components section, click USB, click Edit, Select All, Copy and then past he information back here.

There will be some personal information (like System Name and User Name), and whatever appears to be private information to you, just delete it from the pasted information.
