When I try to open any Word document , Windows Installer pops up and say "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2000 Professional..." Then it says "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk. Please insert MSO 2000 Pro."
Well it used to work. And I've got to open my resume to get a job!!!! And no, I dont have the disk. This happens at every startup too. I have to sit the and cancel it over and over again as it tries three times to load. Your help would grrrrrrreatly appreciated.

If you need your resume straight away, you can download OpenOffice.org; its word processor should be able to open the Word document (unless the original .doc file has become corrupt).

Try step 3 here:

For the most part, if this does not fix it, you will need the cd to fix the problem.

Hey Grinler. It didn't work. I tried and after the installer loaded it said "problem with shortcut: fatal error during installation." But I know Word is on the computer, I was able to open it by searching for winword.exe or something. There is an application that says "Word" and one that says "Word 10". I clicked on the one that says "10" and it opened, but the installer popped up at the same time. If I can open it thru the search method I should be able to open it another way, by creating a shortcut or something? Also, I was thinking of downloading the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. What do you think?
Thank you!

The installer cleanup utility may help, but I personally do not have any experience with it.

If you want to create a shortcut , you can find that file, right click on it and select send to and then send to desktop (create shortcut)
