that's a very subjective question.....

do you have money to burn?

what is wrong with your current one?

If it works fine then why upgrade? Like mikey mentioned above this is a very subjective question.

I am thinking an upgrade in to something better yet not too expensive. This tablet is 4 years old!

Is the battery life still acceptable ?  Batteries do lose capacity over time.

Is the performance acceptable ?  For example, do apps or web pages open acceptably fast ?

If the answer to both these questions is yes then there is no pressing need to replace it, but the decisioin is entirely yours.

I would replace a 4 year old phone, but if the tablet works ok, keep it. we don't use the tablet as much so it has a longer life. I have a 3 year old Samsung Galaxy and will not replace it any time soon, it works just fine.

This tablet is 4 years old!

Just because is 4 years old it's not a reason to change it.

If there is no technical reason (lagging, low performance)behind your decision, I don't think you should change it.

I run ipad mini for 6 years already and I haven't found goals that requires a better one. Age is not a reason unless you want something your current device can't handle.
