Hello. I've been trying for awhile now to fix a computer having indexing issues which never completes due to search gatherer error in the event viewer. Below is what I've tried so far searching on the internet with no luck. Please help! Thank you.

- Rebuild index

- Created a new Outlook profile

- Created a new pst and moved old email from the previous PST files

- Reinstalled Office

- Repaired office

- Restart Windows Search service

- Turned search on/off from Windows features

- Installed Office 2016

Hardware:

Gateway SX2801

6GB ram

Windows 7 64bit

Is that the correct information you were asking for?

1. Open Control Panel (type Control Panel on the Windows Start screen and click it).
2. Click Uninstall a program under Programs.
3. Right-Click your installed Office product (such as “Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016”) and click Change.
4. Click QuickRepair and then click Repair.
5. Restart your computer after the repair process is complete.

Please close this topic as I've installed third party software for search functionality.

Bleeping Computer doesn't close topics unless there is a problem between a moderator and the OP or the content could conflict with another post made by the OP.  These topics stay open so that if someone has a question later or wants to add to the means of resolving a problem they can.

I'm glad you were able to resolve this issue.  What programs/software did you install?

I installed Lookeen for the time being as the user needs to search in order to work. Is there anything you can come up with to fix the search on Outlook? I don't want to do any major changes to the computer such as creating a new windows profile and having to reinstall everything again.

Have you tried updating to the latest Version and Build.  In post #4 you can see the option to update, I would select this and see if it offers a newer update.  Below is an image of the most current Version and Build.
