I just bought a TpLink usb wifi dongle, and installed the driver successfully.

My built in network adapter is a Qualcomm Atheros
But in adapter settings, when I disable the Qualcomm and enable the TpLink, it still displays the name of Qualcomm on top of the Tplink.
I'm not familiar with these matters so I'm quite confused.
Is it using the TpLink as it should?

That would be normal. As long as the Qualcomm adapter is disabled you are good. You can now connect to the internet normally, correct?
