I had a desktop that stopped responding to a Windows 10 reset and locked up.  I ran several programs to test and it seems that the drive is not recognized in the system anymore.  What is the next possible procedure to get it working?  I don't need to save the data...Thanks

I would try running the chkdsk /r command on the partition in question.

Thanks for the reply...

I never was able to access the drive on the desktop so I removed it and used my usb adapter to hook it to my other system.  Under disk management, it gives it a drive letter but says "unknown"  I looked further down and it said not initialized so I tried that and got the error message I mentioned above. How can I do the scan you mentioned when I can't access it>
