So I noticed this with older games especially last year when I tried to play Towns (do not recommend, the demo is so much better). I wasn't too worried but I did go through some tutorials that suggested things like turning off pointer tails and mouse shadows etc. None of that seemed to help and to be frank I really want my mouse settings to stay where they are. This was not an issue until recently and those settings haven't changed so I am really hoping someone can figure out the cause not a bandaid :).

Anyway I recently started playing The Sims 3 again. Last year it was fine, no issues, and this year it is not fine. I last played it in November, on the 17th, and the mouse worked fine. But last night it was not fine. I really would appreciate some help with this please :D.

I am wondering if my graphics card might have something in it that's preventing games from controlling the mouse or if there's some obscure setting preventing it in windows or even a firewall or something. It worked perfectly 3 months ago, it can't just turn off by itself?

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit.
