I wanna clarify a few things.

Ok so once I'm in the setup, is my computer going to install Windows onto my C drive over the old copy or onto my jump drive? And then when do I reformat my C drive? After Windows is installed? I just wanna make sure I've got it all figured out.

Want to clarify a few things first:

After I install windows from my USB am I installing it into the C drive over the old copy or is it installing on my USB drive?

At what point am I reformatting the c drive?

The Install files are on the flash drive. I believe that's what you mean by jump drive. Correct me if I'm wrong. In setup it'll reformat your C:/ drive or the partition Windows was in completely wiping out everything that was on it. Then it'll install a fresh install of Windows on it. This is my last post for tonight so good luck.

Brand-new Windows was installed from the usb drive onto my C drive. I downloaded Google Chrome and took a few doc files off my external hard drive. Now we wait...

Hopefully this doesn't jinx it but it's been five days and no problems yet since reformatting Windows...

Thank you so much anyway!

SOLVED. Thank you so much! I want to call ASUS and tell them that someone half their age did what they are paid to do professionally and couldn't do themselves.

Well, I guess I spoke too soon! Another restart - another bugcheck error. Took 9 days but it effing happened again! What is going on with my laptop?! ARGH!

I've only had this thing since Christmas. Should I just send it in again? I feel like I've exhausted everything at this point. I don't understand why it happened again!

UPDATE NOTE: I noticed that my Conexant MEDIA driver was not installed properly when I did the reformat and reinstall of Windows. I just fixed and updated it now so maybe that was the new issue?

I hope so too. If it's that new If it doesn't work I demand a new computer and not another botched repair attempt. That is so frustrating.

I'm sending it in today. Any suggestions on what I should write as the description of my issues? Just so I don't forget to include anything...
