I have a HP Pavilion Slimline desktop computer with windows 7. Model S5510f  my computer kept trying to update windows the computer went to update and I turned off computer its stuck in System Recovery manager. I do not want to do a system recovery as I will lose everything on my computer. Does anyone know how I can get back to the regular windows start up.  I am seeing these pics when it starts up.  Thanks David

Do a Microsoft System Restore. This is not System Recovery. It should provide you with a System Restore Date. It should ask you if you want to start Microsoft System Restore. This will not affect your programs or data. This replaces the registry and system files.

You may want to attempt a startup repair first. It may take up to three attempts. If that fails then do a System Restore to a date just prior to the problem. Hopefully you have restore points available.

Okay, I thought the option would be available using the arrow keys. If not you can create a System Repair Disk on another Windows 7 computer. Boot the disk and select Startup Repair and if that fails System Restore. A Windows 7 install DVD will also work. Select Repair Computer.
