Hello All.

I have a new machine about a month old.

Same internet provider.

Same browser (Firefox)

Never experienced this problem before

About 1 out of every 20 YT videos I watch, there is no Audio.

All video content plays fine.

I did a driver update on the soundcard only.

No difference.

It seems to be format specific, I'm guessing.

There must be one particular format my machine or sound card is not recognizing?

There is no 'pattern' to it I can detect.

I can click off that YT, go to another that plays fine, go back to that YT, still no audio.

So it's specific to certain YT's, it's not a random occurrence in my machine.

It's happened on a few audio only podcast sites as well.

A funny note:

One podcast site that has shows dating back several years, it will play all shows back to a certain date, and then no audio for shows beyond that date.

As if they changed their upload format at some point.

Thanks for any help!

Try the same videos using Explorer, I have found the same issue with the new FF.  For about two weeks had issues with videos on news site, that has since been corrected.  My other half country western station would not play that got fixed (thank you lord) she was not happy!!!  I think FF tightened the browser and now needs to work with various sites to get them running again.

So, I just ran into another YT that wouldn't play audio.

I went into the sound card diagnostics.

I noticed that it was default set up for 5.1 surround sound.

I only have standard L/R speakers w/ a sub.

I changed the format to 2.1.

Went back to the same video, walaa...sound!

I guess problem solved.

Many Thanks BC all the same!
