Over the past week or so - my Google Chrome 64 bit version 64.0.3282.119 on Windows 10 PRO has been D R A G G I N G when loading a fresh page.

1. Turned off Hardware acceleration

2. Reset browser and restarted

3. Turned off extensions

4. Re-installed

5. Scanned for PUPS, Viruses, etc. (Via AdAware and ESET online scanner) - nothing major found. (Note, I use NOD32 as my antivirus).

6. Internet Explorer works perfectly.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!!

For clarity is it only chrome which has slowed? You have IE which you say is working fine, do you have any others as well like as firefox, has performance degraded with them? Have you tried your computer on a different connection, maybe your internet connection in your area has got worse, but then why would IE still be fine? Have non-browser programs slowed, which would indicate a problem with your machine at a lower level than just the browser. The steps you've taken sound reasonable, have you had any recent changes to the system which might correspond with when the slowing occurred, any specific changes to settings, installation or removal of other programs, updates applied?
Back on this site, for a while anyway, been so busy the last year.

My systems:2 laptops, intel i3 processors, windows 8.1 installed on the hard-drive and linux mint 17.3 MATE installed to USB

It's ONLY Chrome - IE and Firefox work perfectly normal.

All other programs work normally - WORD, Games and so forth.

When I open Chrome - it "opens" quickly - i.e. the cached main page opens immediately.

  - When I navigate to a "new" page - it can take up to 2 minutes to load anything.  After that it seems to work fine, i.e. I can navigate to other pages with normal expected loading times.

My internet speed using  speedof.me is about 35Mbps  (expected) when tested with Internet Explorer

 - It tested about the same with Chome, ONCE it loaded.

Love to hear ideas, besides, "Ummmmm"

In addition to John's question, can you tell us what version of Ten you are on: 1607, 1703, 1709?

1. Click on Menu and type cmd.

2. When you see cmd come up click on it, or just hit Enter if it is highlighted.

NOTE: CMD Looks like a little Black Box.

3. Type winver in cmd and Hit Enter and you will see what Version you are on.

Try to use Chrome Portable to see, if it performs differently.
