When I try to install service packs to Office 2007 on a win 10 dell desktop. It runs for a while and reports The installer has stopped working, checking with microsoft and the install has failed.I tried under administrator and no change. The win OS was recently reloaded.Any thoughts?

What if you right click the exe file and select Run As Administrator? Is that what you meant by trying under administrator? If that fails does the service pack install in Safe Mode?

Yes, I am running the patch  as admin. Safe mode did not work. In fact it failed faster.

Maybe Windows 10 is set to refuse Office 2007 updates. I don't know. According to Microsoft Office 2007 has reached end of life and no longer receives Security Updates.

You can enter your key in the below page. Microsoft should give you a Office 2007 download that includes all service packs. Maybe that would install.

You can pull the key using produkey. Your AV may flag it but it's a false positive.

You can call Microsoft but I doubt they will help as Office 2007 is no longer supported and has reached end of life. Unfortunately, I am out of ideas regarding why the service packs do not install.
