Im having problem with my CPU where the first virtual core is always higher usage than the rest. I understand that most programs look at the first core that they can see and only use that, I learnt from research beforehand. But I don't think the delta should be this large. Back when this laptop was relatively new, I can run League of Legends up in the 100s even during events with a lot of elements going on. Now, its barely reaching 40 fps during those team fights. I know this is not a GPU problem because the GPU never reaches 100% when I play LoL. I do not remember when exactly this problem started, but the laptop's performance did slowly diminish up to this point. (wasn't confident enough to post in forums 'til now)

The first screenshot attached below was taken the moment I can turn on task manager. Thanks in advance

Laptop: Acer Aspire V3-575G
CPU: Intel i5-6200U

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 940M

RAM: 8GB
Windows Version: Windows 1709 (OS Build 16299.192)

but my laptop now doesn't have the performance that it used to have.. and another laptop with similar specs but 4GB ram that my friend owns can run  LoL perfectly way over 60 fps. and his doesn't show the same behavior like mine does. are there any possible culprits?

Well even machines with similar specs can vary.

There are a few things you can do like remove apps that auto start with your windows such as pre loaded apps that came with your laptop.

There is often bloatware on laptops, software that does nothing morer than be flashy and eat up ram and space and bork performance.

Look at your system tray next to the clock and see what is running in the background at start up.

Perhaps its simple like McAfee which a lot of companies like to pre load on you.

Check to see what is installed too and dont be afraid to post screenshots.

You could use imgur or other similar image hosts and show us what you have there running in the background and we can tell you what to remove to help performance.

But again its not too unusual for one core on a processor to take on extra load, its normally a non issue and its other areas of your machine is where I would look in to such as pre loaded apps.

When was the last time you cleaned the fans/heat sinks? Dust buildup would be one of the top reasons a PC seems to "slow down over time" - especially a laptop; since cooling is not typically the best.

i havent yet since i bought this almost 2 years ago, but i've havent had thermals reach 80 C max even during gaming. I am still looking for a retailer selling cans of compressed air locally, since I cant buy online haha

If you're not surpassing 80C you're probably okay, but 2 years is a long time to go without at least dusting it out.

Yeah clean your system of dust and debris, if its anything that is at issue its probably that.

As for your system load per core again I see nothing abnormal, I would just close off apps like chrome when firing up a game.

I dont see any processes that are abnormal or causing issue except for that java updater or solidworks but nothing else pops out.

Have been keeping up with getting rid of the trash, temp files, adware etc.  I use CCleaner almost every day also run all the security stuff I have every few days, that type of regime is important and takes little time.
