Hello all,

Have a Asus Laptop with windows 10 on it. The issue is when I go to the WINDOW button and press it (as if I want to power it off or restart) and RIGHT click on the SETTINGS icon to have it give me the option to move it to the task bar, it only gives me the option to pin it to start. When I pin it to start, it does NOT say SETTINGS, but says P~WINDOWSIMMERSIVECONTROL palnel. I tried to fix it with SCF / SCANNOW but it detected corrupt items and could not fix it. Ran a few virus/malware/spyware programs and removed a few PUPS.

Any ideas?

Steve

You may want to post in the Windows 10 forums for some more expert assistance with this:  https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/229/windows-10-support/

After right clicking on "Settings" you should be able to select "More" - and then should be able to pin it to the Task Bar.

If this doesn't fix the Immersive Control Panel thing, have a look at this topic:  https://www.tenforums.com/general-support/38630-cannot-open-windows-10-settings-immersivecontrolpanel-repair-rebuild.html

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

If I right click it the only option is to pin to start. Then when you do that, it makes a square in the start menu, but it says P~iwindowsimmersivecontrolpanel and does not have the sprocket icon or anything....something is broken.

Can you link or move this to the other thread you mentioned?

Ill look at the other site you mentioned, but I think I did all those things already....

You'll have to either start a new topic in the forum where I asked you to look - or PM a moderator/admin to move it there.
While I am a member of staff, I don't have the powers of a moderator/admin - so I can't move/link stuff like that.
