I was cleaning up things and noticed this in Windows7  \Windows\Temp folder MpSigStub.log

               Microsoft Antimalware (Beijing):
       Status: Active
  ProductGUID: EDB4FA23-53B8-4AFA-8C5D-99752CCA7094

It comes in with MSE engine and signature updates. What's this Beijing thing about?

A Microsoft Answer Tech provided this explanation to another user with the same concern.

...the Microsoft Antimalware (Beijing) is created to prevent the exploitation of the previous event that took over in Beijing during the 2008 Olympics whereas the event was tried to exploited by releasing a screen saver with Olympic pictures and the program will install key loggers onto computers.

MS Security Essentials "Microsoft Antimalware (Beijing)"?

BTW...Microsoft has a Beijing Technology Center

Thank you for answering, quietman7.

I also saw that conversation. It didn't give me warm and fuzzy feeling, but I suppose it's all right, especially that you don't seem upset :) Just written in their technology center and so named.

Very nice link describing it and the environment.
