I'm using an MSI A6200 laptop with a BTY-L74 battery. The AC adapter works to power the computer, but the battery doesn't retain any charge. It says that the battery is at 0% and that it isn't charging, and the computer dies when removed from the adapter. The computer seems to recognize the presence of the battery, as it acknowledges when it is removed, but it doesn't seem to be able to store power in it. Is there any way to make my battery work?

Unlikely it has internal connections components that have probably died.  You can run it on the cord until you order a new one.

Battery sounds dead, time to order a new one.
