Hi, my name is Kat, but I go by "OlderProgrammer" because I'm older (64-year-old) and in another life, I started out as a business coder and ended as a System Analysis (which doesn't sound great as a screen name). I've retired from the USAF, corporate life in the AeroSpace industry, and completed classes for a Ph.D. as a child psychologist before physical limitations took over. I spend my time now building (or upgrading) my personal systems and educating (and sometimes building) family and friends about security and their systems while keeping current on programming languages and designing a Web site for my nephew's football pool where I'm a member.

My goal is to use any form of Linux as my main OS by the end of the year since I have NO intentions of going to Windows10.

:welcome:

For people moving from Windows I find Mint Cinnamon offers the easiest migration. Even on my older laptop it runs fast.

My first coding experience was using toggle switches, Like 1966.

Many used parts from Honeywell.
