Hi BC,
I recently had update my gom player after ignoring the update for a long time. AVG notify me with a list of 3 outdated programs that need to be updated or the computer can easily get infected (something like that) and Gom was one of them. After updating Gom it gave my computer problems where I can't watch most of my videos, certain videos will play slow motion, have a scratchy picture or not play at all. And after updating gom it installed another program called Web Campanion. When I uninstalled it, it gave my computer more problems. I can't complete scanning my computer with AVG or Malwarebytes even in safe mode, it will shut down or restart my computer. It even changed my browser setting. I changed it back to my default browser but it signs me off my fb or when I'm on another site it'll take me back to fb. I found out that Gom has bundling software which I only learned about this morning.Your Help is so much appreciated. Thank you for your time 😊

Can any of BC team tell me why I'm not getting help? I see others getting help and mines getting ignored. I use to come here before to get help and you guys were always quick to respond. My computer is getting worse since I've updated and installed Gom player. Malwarebytes had dectected a rootkit. Whatever it is rootkit/malware(?), is not letting me use my usb stick now and again, I can not do a full scan with or without safemode because, halfway through my computer will restart. Please help

Hello, try running RKill then the other tools.

Please download Rkill by Grinler and save it to your desktop.
  • Link 1
  • Link 2
    • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
    • If using Vista/Windows7, right-click on it and Run As Administrator.
    • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
    • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
    • If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.
    • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.
  • Do not reboot the computer, you will need to run the application again.

You can and the malware logs too if you want them reviewed.
Did the scans fix the issue?
