Since this month started, my computer freezes constantly.  It has become nearly unusable, which is made worse by the fact that it is the only one I have, and cannot buy a new one until the end of the year.  (financial issues)

I keep having to restart it, but it doesn't help.

Any suggestions?

Sorry for the delay in responding.  Do you still need assistance?

If so, what is the make and model of your system and which version of Windows do you have?

There is many possible reasons that your computer could of froze. Type cmd in your search bar, then right-click "run as administrator" on the first program you see. A User Account Control prompt should come up. Assuming you're the Administrator, click "Yes". A command prompt should appear. In this, type chkdsk /scan. After it has finished, type sfc /scannow. If there is still a problem, let us know. (First proper post, sorry if I did anything wrong.)

When you first start the computer, tap rapidly and repeatedly on the Esc key

It should open up a startup menu - with F2 being the key for system diagnostics

Please run the long/extensive diagnostics and let us know the results.
