Sony VAIO L2 VPCL212FX. Wired net connection works fine but no wireless networks are showing, I am seeing a wireless driver in the DM so wondering by no networks are showing in the Network and Sharing center? With the wired connected connected or removed no wireless icon is showing the tray, help please?

The owner had a blue screen before bringing to me but that never showed here. I had to do a lot of virus work and now everything works fine aside from the wireless issue.

go into device manager, uninstall the wireless.....restart computer and let windows reinstall it

if that doesn't work, the wireless chip could be defective,

is there a switch or a button on the computer to turn the wireless on or off?.....look hard.....could be on the keyboard also

That black arrow next to your Wifi Adapter in Device Manager can mean the device is disabled. Right click the Atheros Adapter and select Enable Device if Disabled.

Did so, running the network troubleshooting it is showing there is a switch to turn on somewhere but not seeing any. I ran the Vaio Wireless Wizard which is asking for Router Selection but my Verizon router is not on the list.

Sorry my last post was responding to Mikey11. Which black arrow are you referring to John?

In your image you posted there looks like a black down arrow on the two monitors next to the Atheros Wifi Adapter.

Here is the user's manual:

https://docs.sony.com/release/VPCL21_series.pdf

Look on page 93 for how to turn the wireless adapter back on.
