Windows 10 machine with 1tera seagate hdd
About three days ago my PC began to restart itself. At first I thought it was windows, but over the three days it became more frequent. It was accompanied with articles on screen, resets to different colored screens that forced me to restart. Windows viewer said it was a bug error and further investigation said it was a bad driver for the GPU.
On the third day it was struggling to boot at all. Throughout I never lost wifi or noticed anything other than what looked like a GPU issue. I even had a bad HDMI cable that I thot was to blame. By the end of the third day, it would not boot at all. Only got to the boot option window and it refused to boot to safe mode or be reset.
I ran norton rescue bootable drive and when I do, weird graphic glitches happen and I get errors and no option to scan.
I ran Hiren's boot and got to run antimalware. It found
I asked it to clean it but said it needed to restart and it refuses to do so. I ran a few other antiviruses from there to no avail. I still end up with the same scenario.
So my question, how screwed am I? I would simply wipe the HDD but there are files on there I would like to keep.
Anything I can do? Anyway to figure out if this thing stole information?
Any help is appreciated.
