Thanks for the above.

Unfortunately I'm away for a few days and my son has picked up the laptop as it's running a whole lot better.

When I'm back I'll get the machine and run the utilities you've kindly advised me to run.

I hope that's okay.

Well based on the information you gave us I say things are okay for what its worth, again you may or may not need to replace the on board wifi card and or hard drive but letting your son play with it will be the best way to see if it will work itself out.

I mean the slowdown and issues may have been just caused by inactivity, if the machine is updating in the background it will sure as heck be bogging down on you.

I say letting your son use it is a good test of the hardware and the only thing you have to do is to refer to us here.

Heck invite him here we wont bite, I know I already had my taste of human flesh for the day :D
