Hi all,

I built a new rig about 2 months ago, and I've had various issues with it. The first one I was having was just random freezing after leaving it for a while, I fixed that by turning AMD Cool'n'Quiet and c modes off which fixed that issues, I had other issues with drivers and I found that was because the Asrock drivers on the website were so out of date, it wasn't even funny.

However, two bluescreens seem to happen randomly either when just sitting there watching a YouTube video or browsing the desktop for example and that is the memory management and irql_not_less_or_equal BSOD. I've tried bringing my RAM down multiple times in speed and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've since bought it down again as I had another BSOD to see if it helps. The other error happens randomly but not as often. I've attached the latest DMP file in zip for the memory management BSOD.. The RAM was running at 2666MHz. I've lost the DMP file for the irql BSOD.

These are the basic specs that should matter:

AMD Ryzen 7 1700

Asrock Fatal1ty X370 Gaming K4 (Latest BIOS as of posting)

Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2 x 4GB DDR4 3200 (running at 2400 now))

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB DDR4 3200 (running at 2400 now))

Corsair Force MP500 240GB

Samsung 850 Evo

Asus GTX 1080Ti

EVGA G2 650W

Honestly at this point, I've looked around, some seem to suggest that motherboards can cause the issue, CPU, and of course the memory.

Hopefully, someone with more knowledge about dmp files can help out as right now I am lost what could be causing the issue.

I have to add that I know the RAM configuration might be causing issue with the Ryzen memory controller, but I would have thought the BSOD would be more common if it were the case.

Thanks!

Please run this report collecting tool so that we can provide a complete analysis: (from the pinned topic at the top of the forum)   http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/
NOTE:  On problem systems it can take up to 20 minutes for the log files to complete.  Please be patient and let it run.

If you still have problems with it running, there's an alternate tool here (direct download link):  https://github.com/blueelvis/BSOD-Inspector/releases/download/1.0.5/BSODInspector-1.0.5.exe

NOTE:
Please zip up the (.ZIP) files - do not use .RAR, .7z or other compression utilities.
.ZIP is the type file that can be uploaded to the forums.

My first suggestion (after generating the above reports) is to run Driver Verifier according to these instructions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

My first guess is a problem (either hardware or software) with some sort of USB audio device.

Hi Usasma,

I ran the first tool you've asked and have included the ZIP file as an attachment to this post. I'll also attempt a run of the Driver Verifier at some point during the week as well and also send that when I get that done.

Thanks for the help thus far.

No memory dumps in the attached reports.

No memory dumps seen in the KernelDumpList.txt report either.

If using a disk cleaning utility (such as CCleaner), please stop while we're troubleshooting
Also, Please try this:  http://www.carrona.org/setmini.html

Your UEFI/BIOS (version P3.40) dates from 2017.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  This is just in case there has been a more recent update.
FYI - W8 and W10 communicate more with the UEFI/BIOS than previous versions of Windows, so it's important to ensure that the UEFI/BIOS is kept up to date (and that outdated UEFI/BIOS' may be the cause of some compatibility issues).

No Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most build 16299 (1709/Fall Creators Update) systems have more than this.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available Windows Updates.
The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

You have 5 hard drives.  What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?
The purpose of this question is to get you to evaluate your PSU.
- PSU's tend to get less efficient with age
- adding components over time may decrease the ability of the PSU to support the entire system (Maybe remove some stuff to see if that helps?)
- while you can measure the output of a PSU with a multimeter, the readings may change dramatically when the PSU is put under load.  PSU testing instructions (by dc3) here:  https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/654994/pc-is-crashingfreezing-up-multiple-times-daily/page-2#entry4341756
- there's a free PSU test in the OCCT program at http://www.ocbase.com/

Hundreds or thousands of errors related to CustomDesktopLogo.exe
I have never seen this many errors in one MSINFO32 report - please uninstall this program immediately!

MSI Afterburner  (along with EVGA Precision and Riva Tuner) are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys).  Please un-install them immediately!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting.  Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

I'll stick with my suspicion about the USB audio device also (although CorsairLink4 may also cause similar problems)
Please uninstall the software for the USB audio device, then physically the device from the system.

Then reboot and see if that helps things.

That was my fault for there being no memory dumps, I had moved them to my desktop instead of copying them, I have redone the Sysnative Scan and have included it in the post.

In terms of some of the other things you are saying, BIOS is up to date, I check that most of the times when I have issues. Windows Updates I mostly have all that disabled due to the fact I dislike the way it works, however, I’ll have a look at some of the updates on the Microsoft Catalogue and apply any that are needed. PSU is about 2 ish months old (Could be faulty still), it is an EVGA SuperNova G2 650W. I would doubt it would be this mainly because when I BSOD with the error, I’m idle at the desktop just watching a video, so unless something happens like a HDD turning off or on, I can’t see it personally being the PSU.

With regards to CustomDesktopLogo, it only runs when I start it, and for whatever reason it crashes when I shut it under Windows 10, however, most of the time I crash I don’t have it running.

For now, I’ll leave it here and let you analyse the crash dump I’ve included (Provided it worked this time) and see what you say from that.

Thanks for the help thus far.

I did a short OCCT test for about 5 minutes, I'll do an hour long test during the week and I've included the results. From looking at it seems fine in the short test.

Whilst doing the test however, I was experiencing hard freezes (about 2 minutes in) for a few seconds and then it would be fine. I've also had a similar situation during today where I was just navigating Windows and my explorer stuttered whist browsing to a file location but so did my audio and mouse, all at the same time.

So I went into my BIOS, completely reset it, only things I changed were C-modes and AMD Cool'N'Quiet as I had issues with this causing my system to randomly lock up and turning it off fixed it, but I ran another OCCT test and the results in my opinion look much worse, possibly suggesting a PSU issue maybe. I guess maybe software reading might be causing it but some of the voltages have quite big spikes down. Some like the GPU and CPU voltages I would suspect to drop, but +5V is very strange.

Disabling Windows Updates isn't a good thing.  I find that the most common problem with systems that aren't updated is the missing updates.

Windows does stuff in the background all the time - to include accessing your hard drive(s).

When idling at the desktop watching a video, most likely the system is buffering the video to your hard drive(s).

Temps appear to get pretty high in OCCT - have you tried other tests (and monitored the temps while running them - ie Prime95 and Furmark)?

If you suspect a PSU issue - disconnect several of the hard drives (both the power and data cables) and see if that helps

Have you done anything with the USB audio device as I have suggested?

Beyond that, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

Please update these older drivers.  Links are provided in order to assist you with looking up the source of the drivers.
If unable to find an update, please uninstall the program that is responsible for that driver.

DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable!!!:
