Hi gang, I have an old tecra laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5500 2M Cache, 1.66 GHz, 667 MHz FSB
Sockets Supported PBGA479, PPGA478

Yesterday I found an Dell Studio 15 1555 mobo with Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile P8600 3M Cache, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB
Sockets Supported BGA479, PGA478

I wonder if I can switch faster processor from Dell mobo and use it in Tecra A-8 but I have no idea if sockets are interchangable.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance. :)

Down in the bayou, Bubba called an attorney and asked, "Is it true they're suin' the cigarette companies for causing people to get cancer?
"Sure is Bubba. But why you asking?"
"Cause what I want to know is, I was thinking, can I sue Budweiser for all them ugly women I've slept with?"

I doubt it.  The 945 chipset in the A8 generally hates CPU's with a front side bus faster than 800Mhz so the 1066Mhz on the P8600 may make it crazy and not even post.

The A8 was offered with a T7200 though and a 667Mhz front side bus would be safe with an 800Mhz being worth a shot.
