Hi! I have tried everything and i cannot get rid of whatever i have going on. I am running zone alarm and have used Adaware, Spybot search and destroy, deleted everything obvious from hijackthis logs, and use AVG virus protection. Here is my hijackthis log. Thanks for any help! -Robbie

Hey moz138

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time. DO NOT UPGRADE TO SP2 AT THIS TIME
  • Click HERE for the update.
  • Apply the update.
  • REBOOT YOUR SYSTEM
  • Post a fresh Hijack This log

i got this computer used awhile back and apparently its not a legit copy of windows, which makes me a little nervous. i dont know if it is an error or what. im going to try to check into and maybe pay and get a legit license or buy a real copy if i have to. it may take me awhile so ill just post another log when i get a good copy. im kind of clueless about how to go about doing it. this stuff is driving me crazy. i have tried everything. a friend of mine put adaware, file wiping, firewall, and some other cleaning tools, but they dont seem to work. thanks for the service pack tip. i hope that helps! thanks!-robbie

You could try contacting the person you bought it off and asking for the Windows CD with a legitimate product key.

Unfortunately I cannot help you until you get Service Pack 1. Please let me know when you have a legitimate copy of Windows and I will be glad to continue helping you.
