I bought a HP laptop the came with Windows 8 off Craigslist. I wiped it to run a dual boot machine XP, and Ubuntu. I successfully set ut up, however the ubuntu side works fine. The XP side is missing wifi and network drivers. So my question is how can one OS work flawlessly and the other not? I am also having a hard time finding the drivers even off the HP site.

Model number or serial number of the HP?

Right click the network adapters in Device Manager. Select Properties. Under the Details tab select Hardware IDs in the dropdown box. Copy the first line and post. XP may not have drivers if this is newer hardware.

I think XP is just not supported anymore. I can not find the drivers I need anywhere. So  I am just going to stick with Ubuntu and forget about XP .

You can always get yourself a USB wifi dongle that supports XP and if you want Ethernet on XP you can get a cheap USB to Ethernet adapter. I have used these successfully.
