Just got a new desktop. I upgraded RAM, upgraded the video card, upgraded from 1TB HDD to a 960GB SSD and in all this excitement, forgot to get the offered upgrade to wireless.
My brother helped out with a Netgear A6200 he no longer uses. I have two programs from him, Setup and Standalone.Standalone doesn't do anything when installed except irritate Setup when that's installed, as Setup demands that I remove Standalone.
Setup asks for me to insert the USB wireless thing into a USB port, then tells me it can't detect it. However, it demands that I remove it when I uninstall the program. (so how come it can't find it to run but won't uninstall if it's there? Who pays these clowns)
I put the usb in several different usb ports for no different outcome.
I put it into my Toshiba laptop without installing the program and the laptop knew it was a network dongle ok.
The light alongside the WAP click button does NOT light up at all, no matter what it's inserted in.
Is it worth fiddling around with this thing or should I just get something else? They're fairly cheap items.
What should i get? A card to go inside the case or something that plugs in?
Thanks
