Hi Everyone,

Whilst researching for a member (In The A.I.I. Forum) who has been a victim of a Tech Support Scam I came across the following URL:

hxxp://www.digitaltechglobal.com/where-can-i-get-identity-theft-protection.html  (http changed to prevent clicking.)

The site description seemed to imply association with or actually being Bleeping Computer at this search:

https://www.bing.com/search?q=bleeping+computer+what+to+do+about+identity+theft&form=EDGNTT&qs=PF&cvid=40bfcb9bdd7e488096bded24d4c69dfb&refig=adf2b74ecc6a4135fd2b9493068bb2d9&cc=AU&setlang=en-US&PC=LCTS

I did not have the time to visit the site to investigate it.

It may be legitimate, in which case there's no problem. It may not be legit, in which case action needs to be taken.

If someone could please look into it I'd be grateful.

Regards,

G'day again,

I've now had time to research the above site a little. It scans clean on VirusTotal:

https://www.virustotal.com/#/url/aa78e01e125e3532753426bb575d9a8b68a7255370106ce60719443358e29c7a/detection

An attempt to access the site resulted in a message stating that the site may have been moved or no longer exists.

I do find this a little odd as it returned headers on V.T.

Cheers,

I just took a look at the website, and the site hxxp:\\www.digitaltechglobal.com seems to have expired. I doubt there is a need for worry unless the website is renewed and turns out to be malicious.

Cheers Mate,

That's the same conclusion I finally arrived at.

Thanks very much for checking it for me too.

Take care!
