Hi,

 

I am having issues with Windows 7 updater. I keep getting this issue telling that I am missing "api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-|1.1.1.dll is missing"

and that I should try reinstalling the program and see if that fixes it.

 

So, where can I get this program to reinstall it?

 

When doing a Google search everything that comes up is about "api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-|1.1.o.dll" and not "api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-|1.1.1.dll".

 

I know it is just the difference between a 0 and a 1 but apparently it makes all the difference in the world. I did install the dll with a 0 and it did not fix this issue.

 

So, where can I get the dll with the 1 instead of the 0?

 

Or if there is a different solution, I have tried others, please let me know.

I think you need to install Visuall C++ Redistributable: http://www.standaloneofflineinstallers.com/2015/12/Microsoft-Visual-C-Redistributable-2015-2013-2012-2010-2008-2005-32-bit-x86-64-bit-x64-Standalone-Offline-Installer-for-Windows.html

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.
 
Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
 
Click Go and paste the content into your next post.
 
Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

   Go to Piriform's website, and download the free version on the left.  Click Download from Piriform.com (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version. You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.

    After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.
 
     Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course):

     Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot.

     Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

Now, once you are back in the forum topic you are posting in, click the ADD REPLY or REPLY TO THIS TOPIC button. Right-click in the empty space of the Reply box and click Paste. Then, click Add Reply below the Reply box.

Does "having issues with Windows updater" mean you are attempting to upgrade your Windows 7 system to Windows 10 or something else?

 

Here is a recent topic in the Microsoft Windows 10 community with many impossible to work ideas and several false starts but eventually an idea is posted that seems to work for lots of folks (I cannot validate, test or verify) so I suggest reading through the replies where this idea worked:

Being unable to edit my earlier reply I was wondering:

 

If you are upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 10 and have run into a snag (which seems to have a workaround) what other snags are you going to run into later?

 

If the upgraded system malfunctions or has issues I would always be wondering if the problems had something to do with the upgrade process that did not go well.

 

If it was me and if I wanted a Windows 10 system I would create some Windows 10 installation media and perform a clean/fresh install from scratch instead of doing an upgrade.  If you are having a problem like this right out of the chute what other problem lie ahead?

 

If you have an issue in the future that requires Windows 10 installation media to fix it what are you going to do (or do you have some Windows 10 installation media)?
