Hello. I'm having problems with my Outlook 2007 not finishing indexing therefore not being able to search my emails. The event viewer warning is Search 10024 The filter host process 5660 did not respond and is being forcibly terminated. I replaced the hard drive in my laptop and I'm using my old pst files. I have not rebuild the index being that it is a new hard drive nor have I created a new profile. Please help! Thank you.

Open the Control Panel and select Indexing Options

(If Indexing Options does not appear in Control Panel, type Indexing Options in the Search Control)

When the Indexing Options open click on Advanced.

Click on Rebuild.

Click OK.

Restart the computer

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Restart the computer

I changed the options to index properties and file contents under indexing which force a rebuild of the index and all is working now. I also updated Adobe to the latest release not sure if this helped or not.

Did this resolve the problem?

Updating Adobe is important from a security standpoint.  If Adobe is out of date it can be susseptable to hackers.  This is true of a lot of applications, for this reason it's important to keep your applications updated.  You can run a program like Security Check by Screen317 to check if applications are out of date.

Please download Security Check by Screen317.

Double click on the download and choose to run the program.

A screen similar to the one below will open, click any key to run the program.

Would you be able to help out with a computer running Windows 10 and MS Office Outlook 2007? The data files under indexing are missing therefore not being able to index. I've tried creating a new profile and even starting a new pst but it still does not show up.  Also, I have tried to repair MS office with no luck.

You don't repair Office, you uninstall it and reinstall it.

If you are still having indexing problem please do the following.

A Windows 10 Reset will reinstall the operating system.  You have the option to keep your personal files or remove them.  Any third party programs that you installed will be uninstalled during this process.

1. Press the Windows key OS4o0pO.png and the I key to open Settings. and the I key to open Settings.

2. Click/tap on Update & Security

 Then Recovery, and Get Started.

3. You will now have the option to Keep my files or Remove everything.  Click/tap on the option you want.

4. You will now receive the message Getting things ready, Windows will list the programs which you will need to reinstall.  You may find it beneficial to copy these programs for a reference later.  When the list of programs is shown click/tap on Next.

5. You will now receive the message Ready to reset this PC, select Reset.

The installation will continue without any need to make any other selections.

Are we now addressing a problem with Windows 10?

Have you considered using a different email client until you get this issue resolved?
