I have a program I use often which has  a web search feature which uses the IE which is contained within Windows10. It has developed a problem and will not open some documents or photos which have been located. Their tech support suggested updating IE. I have tried but cannot find a way to do that. A box on IE says that it is version 11.98. 16299.0 . Can it be updated and any suggestion how it can be done ?

Your IE should already updated to the latest unless you've specifically turned it off in Windows Update.

A little more info would be helpful, might I suggest running IE in compatability mode with Windows 7 and seeing if that helps?
