I owned an IdeaPad 110s about a year ago and I tried various distributions on it and they all worked fine. It wouldn't hurt to download the image and flash it to a USB and try it out (try the live version before installing!).

If you aren't familiar with it, in order to get to the boot options you must use the Novo button located on the left side of the laptop. If you aren't sure where it's at just google it. :)

Have you tried turning it off and back on? :P
