A friend's iPhone 7 has a Safari icon but it opens to Facebook. I've been all over the internet but can't find how to alter that. I need to use safari like any other browser, where I can enter a URL (to download an app not found at the apple store).

Would anyone know how to change the homepage in Safari settings? I've looked in those settings and don't find anything about homepage.

Thank you,

Mac

Usually Safari on iOS opens to the Favorites page.

Is this a shortcut icon to a web page, or the Safari web browser? (usually located on the bottom of the screen)

Belated Thank you to iMacg3, my settings can't be right since I wasn't alerted. Found the answer but this was the Safari browser icon at bottom. Setting was under config of phone for homepage.

its too simple, just click on safari just select the tabs button on the right side downwards then close all the tabs. Go to the setting, scroll down & click on safari, as per you convenience select default search engine such as Google then clear all the history & website data. The safari will be refreshed & while using & quitting safari just make sure you you close the tabs.
