I uploaded an Excel file to ID Ransomware cut it cannot determine the type of encryption. I see no demands or extract file in the folders on our file server. Heck the modified date hasn't changed. But the Cryptosearch Tool from ID ransomeware says many Excel files are encrypted. I wish the tool would scan for all the type of encryption but I have selected about 20 type out of a long list. When I choose the Excel file extension search, it reports back thousands of files.
The website says to post here and reference this case SHA1: 1a9831c1cf8bde078c60c17b1c14cc8bb5959c5e

The point of CryptoSearch is to find and move files after you know what the ransomware is. It isn't a general tool for identifying on the system, as it would find too many false positives, as you probably are finding.

Both files you uploaded are perfectly fine, they aren't encrypted at all.
