Hi, you are referring to the right click context menu, it would help if we could see what is currently there.

Go to search and type:- command prompt, right click on the returned command prompt and select "run as administrator" an elevated cmd prompt will open. Copy all the cmd text below and then right click anywhere in the cmd prompt window and select paste, the cmd will append to the prompt, press enter.

dir /a %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo > 0 & notepad 0

Please copy paste the notepad output here.

Hi, sorry about the delay, it just slipped past me, to make it easier for you, follow the instructions here, make sure your email client is set as your default (to stop this happening again).

So i did that and the option is thee now. I had outlook 2007 set as default mail client and I think that caused the issue. So I have now changed it back to windows mail 10 as the default mail client. So when I right click I get the option to email the picture or document and it asks if I want to do it as an attachment. I say yes and nothing ever happens. I am guessing it is a setting since I can not email an invoice from quickbooks as well.

Any ideas, would love to get this working right, 2nd last item I need to deal with since switching his computer over from a vista one.

Hi, I have never used either of those mail clients, what happens when you manually add an attachment?

Yes I can send an attachment manually with either windows Mail or Outlook. Still can not send one with a simple right click and send to email recipient. Nothing happens it just goes away and nothing happens.

Thanks

Open search by hitting WINDOWS KEY. Type set default, click app settings. Scroll to default mail client, click MAIL (or whatever the win 10 default mail is called), if it's not there, search for it. Set as default and click okay/confirm. Try again and report back if this has helped.

I have tried changing it a few times and still no luck. I dug around a little and I don't know if this has any bearing on anything or not. Under choose default app by file type section and when I go to .mapimail it says to choose a default but there is none listed and it wants be to go to the store and download one.
