Hi,

Posting about a laptop I've been using for two years. As of this moment I am posting to this forum with it, however it frequently fails to boot or crashes with the No bootable devices black screen, asking me to restart or press F5 to run an onboard dianostic. The diagnostic never picks anything up and I am stuck in this loop of restarting and something failing. Once in a while, I'll get a BSOD with CRITICAL PROCESS DIED as the code. Not sure what's going on, but only want to use Dell support as a last resort. I've seen other "related" threads saying it's the mobo, some saying it's windows 10, and most people/evidence is pointing to SSD issues/dying. Either way, I'd like to figure out what's going on so I can use this laptop while I'm on leave for the holidays, away from my desktop.

Attached is the zip.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Only 13 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most build 14393 (1607/Anniversary Update) systems have more than this.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available Windows Updates.
The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 1.1.0) dates from 2015.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.
FYI - W8 and W10 communicate more with the UEFI/BIOS than previous versions of Windows, so it's important to ensure that the UEFI/BIOS is kept up to date (and the outdated UEFI/BIOS' may be the cause of some compatibility issues).

C: drive only has about 6% free space.  Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance.  Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty).  Low free space can cause BSOD's - but the actual amount depends on the files being used by the system.

This device doesn't have any drivers installed:

e-gate Virtual Reader Enumerator    ROOT\EGATEBUS\0000    The drivers for this device are not installed.

Please uninstall it and leave it uninstalled until we're finished troubleshooting.

Please update these older drivers.  Links are provided in order to assist you with looking up the source of the drivers.
If unable to find an update, please uninstall the program that is responsible for that driver.

DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable!!!:
