I have not received the update yet, should I be concerned about it? I understand it takes time to receive the update, but I have been waiting for 6 months for it.

You can upgrade Windows 10 to Fall Creators Update with Windows 10 Media Creation Tool.

Fall creator's update was not released until mid October 2017. It us currently early December 2017. So you cannot have been waiting more than about 6 weeks for it. Many people will not yet have this update & you should not be concerned about not having it yet - but as above - you can update now if you want.
