I have recently upgraded my Fios service fro 50 meg to their 1gig service.  I got a new Quantum router and the tech ran a new Cat6 ethernet cable from the ONT to the router.  I am getting 950+ Mb at the router, but using other speed tests - ookla, speakeasy.net, etc  I'm getting about 70Mb.

And the proof is in the downloads.  Using http://www.engineerhammad.com/2015/04/Download-Test-Files.html and downloading say a 100meg file takes about 8-10 minutes.

WTF ???

Am I expecting too much?

My laptop isn't NEW but it's not too old either.  Its a Win 7 Pro with a gigabit ethernet card (Intel 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection)

I don't really get anything better when using ethernet rather than wifi.

Nothing else is running.

Hamachi is diabled,

Is this gigabit network a scam, or am I missing something.
