So computer has been working fine for 3 months running windows 10 LTSB, suddenly it recently has started having ALOT of 0xd1 DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL crashes with no driver listed except for ntoskernel.sys which make no sense to me

There is no pattern, it's purely random, and nothing has changed on the computer in over a 2 month hardware wise(minus new CPU fans, needed more airflow)

I don't get whats happening, it doesn't list a fault driver

memtest86 is happy and so is linpack

Well... Looking still myself i found something... odd, around that time of the first crash i got a 1TB drive to replace a dead one for my external backplane, and uhh... apperantly when i installed it windows moved my pagefile to that drive.... for whatever reason... this drive is hot ejected and porbably can't be good, and the few times i ran this machine without the drive crashes occured but no dump file(no page file issue i assume) so i moved it back to the C drive... maybe it'll fix it?

it would crash while i'm away from the machine at random alot so i assume it's not the cause but idk

Please post the upload on another site.

The reason for this is that MediaFire uses pop-unders to advertise - and I'm uncomfortable with services that sneakily put things on my system.

ntoskrnl.exe (also seen as ntkrnlpa.exe, ntkrnlmp.exe, or ntkrpamp.exe) is the kernel (core) of the Windows operating system.  It is protected by security features and the Windows System File Checker.  As such, if ntoskrnl.exe was to blame, you'd be experiencing many more problems other than the occasional BSOD.

In most cases ntoskrnl.exe was blamed because a driver (typically a 3rd party driver) has corrupted the memory space that ntoskrnl.exe considers as it's own.  When this happens, ntoskrnl.exe typically finds unknown data (from the 3rd party driver) in it's memory space.  At this point the OS panics and throws a BSOD to prevent damage to the system.

If the culprit (the offending 3rd party driver) hasn't exited yet, then a BSOD analyst may be able to find traces of it in the reports/dumps.  If the culprit has exited, then the chase is on and further tests/reports will be needed to help identify what actually caused it.

More info here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ntoskrnl.exe

Also, crash dumps are initially stored in the space that the pagefile occupies.  So moving it around/switching things will cause enough confusion that dumps won't be captured.

My first suggestion when getting STOP 0xD1 errors (with not further information) is to run Driver Verifier according to these instructions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

Keep an eye on the screen to catch the driver name (in case the system still doesn't capture dump files).

Good luck!

Apologies, used mediafire since 08, hard habbit to break, moving to mega.nz

to continue, I never moved the pagefile, I'm quite unsure how it ended up on my backplane drive but i was hot ejecting this drive, would that cause the BSOD since the paged memory was suddenly missing?

I did already run driver verifier and i never could get the crash. the crash subsided for 8 days then suddenly reappeared

Edit: changed link and included decryption key

I cannot extract the files from the 7z archive after downloading them.  It fails about 1/2 way through the extraction.

Please try it by using a .ZIP archive instead.

I'd suggest putting your pagefile on the drive that Windows is on (C:) and letting the system manage it's size.

now a ZIP, cannot edit OP

to continue what i was saying, it is set to automatically manage and that apperantly puts it elsewhere.

I manually moved it to C: and i also removed 1 driver from my system, seems to be behaving at the moment

I haven't messed with the pagefile recently.  But as I recall, you can specify the drive it's on - and then let the system manage it's size.
If your system is moving it, then either the functions have changed or your copy of the OS is having problems.

But, "Nothing succeeds like success." - so if ti's working, that's what counts!

Only 7 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most build 14393 (1607/Anniversary Update) systems have more than this.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available Windows Updates.
The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version  XS54010J.86A.1353.2009.0724.1139) dates from 2009.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.
FYI - W8 and W10 communicate more with the UEFI/BIOS than previous versions of Windows, so it's important to ensure that the UEFI/BIOS is kept up to date (and the outdated UEFI/BIOS' may be the cause of some compatibility issues).

I am very concerned about the compatibility of this BIOS version with later versions of Windows (W8/10).   Unfortunately, the only way to test this is to install the original version of Windows that this system was originally designed for.  On a positive note, if the system manufacturer offers W10 support for this device - then compatibility issues become less of a concern.  If they don't offer W10 support, then the concern about compatibility remains high.

C: drive only has less than 10% free space, G: drive has about 5% free space.  Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance.  Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty).  Low free space can cause BSOD's - but the actual amount depends on the files being used by the system.

Many more Live Kernel Events than BSOD events in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report.  This may be suggestive of a hardware problem.

Please start with these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

Please finish ALL of the tests, and let us know the results when you're done.

MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner (along with EVGA Precision) are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys).  Please un-install them immediately!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting.  Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

All 3 memory dumps blame a Marvell controller.  As I recall, there were problems with a Marvell controller dating from 2011 (as this one does) a while back.  I'd suggest updating the Marvell controller to a more recent, W10 compatible version.

Please update these older drivers.  Links are provided in order to assist you with looking up the source of the drivers.
If unable to find an update, please uninstall the program that is responsible for that driver.

DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable!!!:

Hi

First off thanks, second let me walk through this with you

The reason you only see hotfix's is if you look at the OS edition, it's LTSB, which ONLY receives hotfixes and no feature updates.

BIOS is newest, Intel did not release newer versions for this board.

the low space is on and off, LOTS of video is processed on this rig, then archived, the storage array is normally the externals

tested without afterburner, it's used to monitor GPU and control the fan more aggressively because the GPU gets too hot without it(Nvidia's fault)

The marvel controller is my blame currently, it's a known issue but is the controller for my external storage array. I may have found issues with cabling going to the controller, corrected it.

Disabled RAID on marvell controller, moved pagefile off marvell controller, replaced E-Stata cables(were heavily damaged from constant relocation), updated firmware, replaced cables in back plane, cleaned back plane, very very dusty.

So far so good, i concluded the marvell controller as well but wanted analysis. So far it's been fine since, also went ahead and reseated the ram, and did a 24 hour memtest86 with perfect results. It seems to be all good right now. Marvell has not responded to support requests
