Ive got a desktop pc that wont power off. With all drives disconnected I hold the power button down and it shuts off for a spilt second then fires back up. Ive connected another power switch to the motherboard with the same results. There was a power surge and I have to replace the psu and it looks like the NIC is dead also.

Have run into this issue before when a pc had dead NIC after a lightning strike.

Ive tried disabling onboard NIC also. I have not added an additional NIC as yet.

What version of Windows are you running?

What is the make and model of this computer?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
